INSET: Management Development for Headteachers, Subject Leaders and SENCos

Leadership Programme for Serving Headteachers (LPSH)

The LPSH is the third element in the TTA’s framework for the Continuing Professional Development for leadership. It is open to all serving headteachers. However, the Standards Fund allocation means that decisions must be made on an annual basis to determine which colleagues should be supported. It is up to each LEA to establish it’s own criteria for allocation which:

  • reflect LEA priorities
  • are open
  • reflect the ratios of different phases
  • integrate with NPQH, HEADLAMP and other provision

The criteria for funding will be:

  • Headteachers to have at least 6 years experience
  • priority to those who applied for, but were not accepted, to LPSH trials
  • allocation to reflect Northumberland phase distribution
  • allocation to reflect gender balance
  • priority to headteachers of those schools facing the greatest challenge in addressing EDP priorities
  • priority to those headteachers who were unsuccessful in an earlier application for funding.

Decisions to allocate funds will be made by a panel of headteachers and advisers.

Supply cover will be available on a needs basis but travel costs will not be met centrally.
