INSET: Management Development for Headteachers, Subject Leaders and SENCos

Leading and Managing Teaching and Learning

First and middle

Current initiatives have not only served to increase the focus on classrooms but also the responsibility of headteachers to secure and sustain a high standard of teaching and learning within them. However, understanding what constitutes effective teaching and learning and how best to develop or improve this presents a persistent challenge for many headteachers.

The aim of this course is to introduce headteachers to a practical programme of support which they can use to focus on reviewing, developing and sustaining quality teaching and learning in their school.

Following the introductory session course members will be invited to return at a later date for another half day session to discuss their ongoing progress and any further issues.

School based support will be available on request both to lead this programme in schools and also to support schools in planning to lead the programme themselves.
