INSET: Management Development for Headteachers, Subject Leaders and SENCos

Assertive Discipline : A positive approach to behaviour Management

All phases

As a teacher and as a whole school, you want the optimal classroom/school environment in which you can teach and children / students can learn. To create this environment teachers and schools increase their ability to influence the behaviour of children and students, in spite of any problems you face at school or any problems the children / students bring with them to school. This course will:

  • examine the positive or assertive "attitude" and the values on which it is based
  • allow you to plan a classroom / school discipline pan based on rules, positive recognition and consequences
  • prepare you to teach responsible behaviour
  • identify and discuss ways of dealing with difficult students.
