Two
Approaches to Computer Control in the Classroom
Middle
and high
This
course for key stage 3 will focus on two approaches to computer
control. The first is a
commercial product available from LEGO DACTA “Robolab - Robotics
Control System”. “Robolab” uses an infrared controller to control devices
built using LEGO Technic. The
infra controller is programmed using the computer.
These programmes are transmitted by infrared signal to the
model thus avoiding the usual problems of cables, etc..
The
second part of the course will focus on using the “CoCo” control
program and the Commotion or Deltronics box.
During this session a simple computer controlled game will be
developed.
